Ensign: Shooting Was Tragic

Senator John Ensign released the following statement regarding today's shooting at the federal courthouse:

"Today's shooting was tragic. The two men who were shot, a court security officer and a Deputy U.S. Marshal, came to work today to do what they did every other day. They were protecting the public and those working within the federal courthouse, including members of my staff. Unfortunately, today's events were unlike any other. The court security officer lost his life and the Marshal was injured in the line of duty. My heart, thoughts and prayers go out to these two courageous Nevadans and their families. I would like to extend my gratitude and praise for the law enforcement agencies that have joined forces to secure the area and ensure the safety of employees in the building."
